One of my absolute favorite things to do in this beautiful city of Barcelona is to visit Ciutadella Park! Park de la Ciutadella is a beautiful park, where you can relax, explore, ride bikes, row a boat in the lake and enjoy a picnic! Inside the Ciutadella Park, there is also a zoo, the Catalan Parliament, and the Museu d'Art Modern Museum. So as you can see it's pretty easy to spend a lot of time here, and there is lots to do and see.
The Cascada is a beautiful fountain located in the northern part of the park and is a pretty iconic art piece in Barcelona and is definitely worth seeing! The sculpture has a lot of mythological elements, for example, in the front you can see Venus emerging from the clam. You can climb up the stairs on either side of the Cascada and see a view of the park from the top, and it's really spectacular viewpoint!
On Saturdays my friends and I like to go to the park, with some wine, bread and cheese and lay down listen to music and enjoy the scenery around us. One of the days we went, there happened to be a circus show put on right next to us, which was quite the thing to see. There is often people playing live music, and kids playing around. It's really a great glimpse of what life is like in Barcelona and what the culture is like. There is also free salsa dance lessons in the park every Saturday night, which I'm definitely planning on attending sometime soon. Here are some pictures of the beautiful Ciutadella Park!
